💡 Best practice: Use the 5-second test for the most consistent and comparable CPS results across sessions.
All timing relies on the performance.now() API for sub-millisecond precision — no server round-trips, no added latency.
📱 On mobile: Tap tests use native touch events. Alternate two fingers for maximum tap speed on touchscreen devices.
With these tools, you can test clicking speed, quickly check clicks per seconds, and also test per seconds clicking with tool.
⚙️ Customise: Open Settings to adjust duration defaults, sound feedback, DPI values, display theme, and much more across all 50+ tools.

Tips to Improve Your Score
📖 Use a gaming mouse — High-polling-rate mice (500Hz–8000Hz) register clicks significantly faster than budget mice. Check your rate with the Polling Rate Test.
🖐️ Relax your hand — Tension creates resistance. Keep your wrist loose and fingers lightly elevated over the buttons for maximum click speed.
💪 Practice daily — 10 focused minutes per day builds the finger muscle memory needed to push beyond 10 CPS consistently.
🎯 Mix burst and endurance training — 1-second all-out tests sharpen peak speed; 10-second tests build sustained stamina. Use both to improve overall CPS.
⌨️ Learn a technique — Regular clicking plateaus around 8 CPS. Jitter clicking reaches 14+; butterfly clicking can hit 25+ CPS when fully mastered.
🌋 Warm up before testing — Flex and stretch your fingers for 30 seconds before a session. Cold hands produce measurably slower results.
📐 Calibrate your DPI — Enter your exact DPI in Settings → Mouse so the eDPI Calculator and Mouse Sensitivity Test return accurate values for your setup.
⏱ Test your input lag — Even a fast mouse is held back by high input latency. Run the Input Lag Tester to identify bottlenecks in your hardware chain.
📱 Mobile tip — For the Touchscreen Test, clean your screen first. Oils and smudges increase friction and reduce touch registration accuracy.
Click Techniques Explained
Regular Clicking
Standard single-finger press-and-release. Typical range: 4–8 CPS. Best for precision-focused games where accuracy matters more than raw speed. The baseline technique for all beginners.
Jitter Clicking
Jitter Clicking: Rapidly vibrate your arm and hand muscles to create a fast involuntary clicking motion. Reaches 10–14 CPS. Can cause hand strain — use short bursts only. Widely used in Minecraft PvP combat.
Butterfly Clicking
Butterfly Clicking: Two fingers (index and middle) alternating on the same mouse button. Reaches 16–25 CPS when mastered. The fastest widely-used technique. Note: banned on some Minecraft servers due to its speed advantage.
Drag Clicking
Drag Clicking: Drag a fingertip across the mouse button surface to register multiple clicks per stroke. Can achieve 30+ CPS but is highly inconsistent and hardware-dependent. Banned on most competitive servers.
Kohi / Speed Click
Kohi Clicking: A hybrid technique mixing regular clicking with slight forearm tension. Typically reaches 8–12 CPS. More consistent than jitter clicking and significantly less strain on the muscles over long sessions.
Right Clicking
Right Clicking: Some games and workflows require right-click speed. Use the Right Click Test to measure your right-button CPS independently. Technique is the same as regular clicking but typically slightly slower.
Spacebar Clicking
Spacebar Clicking: Measured by the Spacebar Speed Tester and Spacebar Clicker. Use your thumb or index finger depending on comfort. Thumb-pressing tends to produce faster results for most users due to leverage.
F1 Reaction Technique
In Formula 1 racing, drivers react to lights extinguishing — average reaction is around 200ms. The F1 Reaction Test simulates this. Sub-200ms is competitive; sub-180ms is elite driver territory.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is ClickTests.net free?
Yes — all 50+ tools are 100% free with no limitations, no premium tier, and no sign-up required.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. All tools are fully touch-optimised. Mobile tap and touchscreen tests use native touch events for accurate, low-latency results.
Are my scores saved?
Results stay in your browser's local storage. Enable "Save History" in Settings ⚙️ to persist scores between sessions automatically.
Why is my mobile score lower?
Touchscreens have slightly higher input latency (~50ms) compared to physical mice (~8ms). This is a hardware difference, not a tool limitation.
How accurate is the timing?
We use performance.now() for sub-millisecond precision. Results are as accurate as most dedicated hardware click counters.
What's a good CPS score?
For regular clicking, 7–9 CPS is considered good (top 30%). Professional gamers typically score 10+ CPS. See the Score Guide tab for full reference ranges.
What is eDPI?
eDPI (effective DPI) = hardware DPI × in-game sensitivity multiplier. It lets you compare your true mouse sensitivity across different games and setups. Use the eDPI Calculator tool.
What does the Polling Rate Test measure?
It detects how often your mouse reports its position to your computer per second (Hz). 125Hz = 8ms delay; 1000Hz = 1ms delay. Higher is better for competitive gaming.
What is keyboard ghosting?
Ghosting is when your keyboard fails to register certain key combinations pressed simultaneously. The Keyboard Ghosting Test helps identify which key combos your keyboard drops.
What does APM mean?
APM stands for Actions Per Minute — the total number of keyboard and mouse inputs you make each minute. It's the standard metric for measuring performance in RTS and MOBA games.
